Very rare NFL program from what turned out to be the key, ultimately championship-deciding game in the 1926 season. Only a few known to exist. This is a program from the December 4, 1926, game between the Frankford Yellow Jackets and the Chicago Bears. The Frankford team was the NFL Philadelphia representative, and they played most of their home games at Franklin Field, but this game was played at Philadelphia's Shibe Park. Hall of Fame icon George Halas coached the Bears and played right end. Guy Chamberlin coached Frankford. Because the NFL had not yet instituted a championship game, the league championship was decided on overall record. In effect, this game was for the championship as Frankford came into the game at 12-1-1, and Chicago was undefeated at 11-0-2. Thus, if Chicago won, they would virtually clinch the championship with only two games to go for each squad. However, Frankford, after losing by 6-0 in the fourth quarter, came back to score on a 27-yard pass to Two-Bits Homan from Tex Hamer to tie the game and then make the extra point kick for the winning margin.
