Considered All-America Game II. In 1961, Davis became the first African-American Heisman recipient. A great halfback, he followed in the Syracuse University footsteps of great Syracuse back Jim Brown. Davis was the first pick of the 1962 NFL draft as he was selected by the Washington Redskins and then quickly traded to the Cleveland Browns. This is the last jersey Davis ever wore in a game. After this game, the great Syracuse running back was scheduled to join the College All-Stars in Chicago and then the Cleveland Browns, however Davis was diagnosed with leukemia and never played again.
