This classic Pittsburgh Steelers jersey was worn by Ray Mansfield from 1964-67. After coming to the Steelers from the Philadelphia Eagles for the 1963 season, Mansfield played defensive tackle until making the switch to center for the 1966 season. It is the very rare black and yellow “Batman” style jersey circa 1966-67, shows fantastic use with four team repairs and is all-original. Mansfield’s “73” is on front, back and both sleeves and this jersey actually has a crotch piece with all original buttons. Inside the crotch piece is Rawlings tagging along with washing instructions, Pittsburgh Sports Shop Inc, and one additional tag that has print washed out. After the 1967 season, Mansfield’s uniform number was changed to 56, which he wore for the remainder of his 13 seasons with the Steelers. He started for the team at center in both Super Bowl IX and Super Bowl X. We have found a near impossible photomatch to this rare style jersey and each match is spot on!
