Displayed is a November 29, 1941, Walter Johnson signed check that was written on the inaugural Hall of Famer's local bank in Germantown, Maryland. Johnson stood at 6'1", with exceptionally long arms that gave his fastball extra torque. The right-hander pitched his entire MLB career (1907-27) with the Washington Senators. He won 417 games, the second most in MLB history, trailing only Cy Young. "The Big Train" was a 1924 World Champion, and his 110 lifetime shutouts are the most in MLB annals. 

The offered check measures approximately 2.75x6.25". It is written on "The Germantown Bank [Maryland]" in the amount of Forty-one dollars and seventy-six cents ($41.76). It is payable to "L.A.
