Offered is a Frankie Fritsch auto collection of six (6) autographs, on postcards and file cards. Some of the autographs are with inscriptions. "The Fordham Flash," and later, "The Old Flash," were Fritsch's nicknames. The Hall of Famer was called "The Fordham Flash" because of his speed as a four-sport star at Fordham University, located in the Bronx section of New York City, the NYC borough that was home to Fritsch. Fritsch went directly from Fordham to the New York Giants, never playing minor league baseball. The second baseman had a 19-year Major League career: New York Giants (1919-26), St. Louis Cardinals (1927-37). He batted a lifetime .316 with 2,880 hits. He was a 3-time NL stolen base leader with 419 total steals. As a player, he was a 4-time World Champion and he also managed 16 seasons, winning a World Championship with the St. Louis Cardinals. After his career in uniform, he became a baseball broadcaster and post-game host, and his trademark phrase was, "Oh, those bases on balls!"

The Fritsch signatures: 1) A 3.5x5.5" (gold-colored background) official Hall of Fame postcard, unmailed. On back, writing in blue ink, Fritsch signed and inscribed, "'The Old Flash'/Frank Fritsch." The signature and writing are big and clearly written. EXCELLENT condition. 2) A 3.5x5.5" (gold-colored background) official Hall of Fame postcard, unmailed. On back, in blue ink, Fritsch wrote and inscribed, "Good Luck Robert 'The Old Flash' Frank Fritsch." Fritsch's signature and inscription is bold and neatly written. EXCELLENT condition. 3) A 3.5x5.5" (white-colored background) official Hall of Fame postcard, unmailed. Fritsch signed the bottom of the front, in blue ballpoint ink, as "Frank Fritsch," large and neatly scripted. On back, written in pencil by an unknown hand, are some numbers, one of which is Fritsch's death year: "1973." The card has a few smudges or small stains on the mostly blank side. 4) A 3.25x5.5" government 8-cent postcard on a postcard that was mailed and postmarked on an unclear date in 1974, but it was not signed by Fritsch. The postcard does contain a cut Frank Fritsch signature from part of a cancelled check. The section of check, with the cut Fritsch signature, measures approx. 1.25x3.2". Fritsch scripted a neat, bold signature in blue ink. The section of check shows some slight darkening. 5) A 3x5" index card, signed and inscribed on the blank side in blue ink. Fritsch wrote and inscribed, "'The Old Flash'/Frank Fritsch." The card exhibits some light toning and slight darkening. 6) A 3x5" index card. Using blue, ballpoint ink, Fritsch wrote on the lined side, but the red line on the card, usually turned to the topside, is on the bottom side. In neat, large script, Fritsch signed and inscribed, "'The Old Flash'/Frank Fritsch." The index card shows some light toning and slight darkening. Each items is accompanied by a full LOA from PSA.
