Offered is a quality Hank Greenberg autograph collection, one that includes ten (10) photographs, each with a signature from the Hall of Fame first baseman. Greenberg was a native of New York City who grew up in the Bronx, signed with the Detroit Tigers. Hank played all but one season of his Major League career with Detroit. Greenberg was a terrific right-handed power hitter, and he became America's first Jewish superstar in a team sport. He batted a lifetime .313, and he was a 2-time World Champion and 2-time AL MVP. In 1938, Greenberg came close to the then-single season record of 60 home runs, by Babe Ruth, when Greenberg finished the season with 58 blasts. Greenberg served 47 months in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, longer than any other Major Leaguer. The slugger hit 331 home runs, but some scribes have speculated that he would have hit close to 500 home runs if he had not been in the military for nearly four years.

The Greenberg signatures: 1) An 8x10" photo of Greenberg, and Hall of Famers Charlie Gehringer, Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig. The photo is signed in black marker by both Greenberg and Gehringer. 2) An 8x10" photo of five Detroit Tigers, signed by Greenberg and two other Tigers. 3) A 3.5x5.5" Hall of Fame Greenberg postcard. 4) A 3.5x5.5" photo postcard signed by both Greenberg and Baseball Commissioner Happy Chandler. 5) A 3.3x5.3" Hall of Fame-like postcard. 6) A 3.5x5.5" T.C.M.A. postcard signed by both Greenberg and Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner. 7) A 3x5" index card, with some Greenberg information, stamped "JUN 16 1965" on the lined side. 8-9) Two 3x5" lined index cards, each with a Greenberg signature on the lined side. 10) A 3x5" lined index card has a short Greenberg biography on the blank side. The bio side exhibits some paper loss and damage from glue or other substance. Except for the aforementioned index card, all of the other photos, postcards, and index cards are in EXCELLENT condition. The Greenberg autographs are predominately in black marker or blue ballpoint ink. The Greenberg signatures average 7-8/10. The offering comes with PSA basic COAs and one PSA LOA for the autographs.
