Offered is the opportunity to possess a 1981 Vince Lombardi Memorial Golf Classic Souvenir Program with the signatures of Bart Starr and President Gerald Ford. Vince Lombardi, as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, won the first two Super Bowls and won five NFL Championships. The Super Bowl Trophy is named in his honor. Pro Football Hall of Famer Starr was a star quarterback at Alabama University who, as the Green Bay Packers' quarterback, went on to win the first two Super Bowls, becoming the Super Bowl MVP in each of these games. In all, Starr won five NFL championships in his 16-year NFL career, all with the Packers. He was the '66 NFL MVP. Although Starr threw for an NFL lifetime 24,718 yards, with 152 passes for touchdowns and 138 interceptions, his forte was running the Packers ball-control offense and minimizing mistakes. Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States (1974-77). He was the Vice President in 1974 and took over as President upon the resignation of Richard Nixon. As President, Ford supported the Equal Rights Amendment, and he furthered Nixon's policy of detente with the Soviet Union and China. Ford also survived a pair of assassination attempts. Gerald Ford was certainly not out of place in a football themed charity event. Ford was an All-American center (and linebacker) at the University of Michigan and a key part of Michigan's undefeated National Champions in both 1932 and '33. He turned down offers to play in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.

The offered program measures 9x19.75" when unfolded, and 4x9" when folded into five sections. The cover of the program reads, "The Vince Lombardi Memorial Golf Classic Souvenir Program/June 20, 1981/North Hills Country Club/Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin." Both Bart Starr and Gerald Ford signed on the autograph page in the program, the only two signatures on the page. Each signed in black ballpoint ink, very slightly faded. Each signature is bold and clearly written. The fold lines remain in the program, and there is a spot of tiny paper loss at the top of one of the folds. Also, included is a 7x8.5" 1981 Lombardi Classic Tee Time sheet, with a fold down the middle. Some of the many famous names listed for tee times include Bob Uecker, the recently deceased, beloved baseball announcer, Bart Starr, Gerald Ford, Baseball Hall of Famer Robin Yount and astronaut Alan Shepard. Also included is a 2.5x5" ticket to this '81 Lombardi Golf Classic, in excellent condition. The signed program comes with a PSA LOA for the signatures.
