Displayed is a great New York Yankees game used hat collection (3). The collection includes one game worn hat from Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter, and a game worn hat from two Yankees all-time stars: first baseman Don Mattingly, and outfielder Hideki Matsui. Each of the included hats was worn at some point during the 2000-01 seasons. Jeter, with his 3,465 hits, was a Hall of Fame no-brainer selection, but Mattingly was well on his way to the Hall of Fame as well before serious back injuries lowered his performance. In the six-year period from 1984-89, Mattingly averaged 26.7 home runs and 116 RBI per season, and hit over .300 in each of those years, with his best two years at .352 and .345. Matsui averaged 20 home runs a season in his seven years on the Yankees. All of the included caps are navy-blue, with the interlocking white NY on front. Each cap has the MLB logo outside, on the back. Each cap has Authentic Collection and NEW ERA tags on the back of the inside headband. 1) Jeter's cap has a number "2" written under the brim by an unknown hand in black, fine tip marker. On the back hatband, a New Era tag shows size "7&1/4." The cap shows good use. 2) The Don Mattingly cap has a number "23" written in fine tip black marker under the brim by an unknown hand. A New ERA size tag on the back, inside hatband shows size "7&3/8." 3) The Hideki Matsui cap shows number "55" written by an unknown hand in fine tip black marker under the brim. A NEW ERA size tag on the back hatband shows size "7&7/8." 4) There is also a Joe Torre hat that came from the same lot, but it has a "GENUINE MERCHANDISE" tag on the back hatband. The hatband also has a size tag reading, "7&3/8 59cm." This Torre cap also has a number "6" written by an unknown hand in fine tip black marker under the brim, as well as a NEW ERA tag on the back hatband. While we feel the cap is authentic, consider it a throw-in. The three offered caps, and the added throw-in, all show light use and are in EXCELLENT condition.
