Presented is a 1998 Robert Fick Detroit Tigers All-Star brand, hockey-style catcher's mask. Fick had a 10-year Major League career as a first baseman, right fielder, and catcher. He played for five teams: Detroit Tigers (1998-2002), Atlanta Braves (2003), Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2004), San Diego Padres (2004-05), Washington Nationals (2006-07). In '98, Fick broke into the Major Leagues, playing in seven games for the Tigers and batting .364, with three home runs, and a 1.235 OPS. He was a catcher in three of those games. In '99, he hit the 11,111th and final home run in Tiger Stadium, a grand slam. His best season was in 2001, when he batted .272 with a career-high 19 homers. The offered catcher's mask is blue. It has the iconic "Old English D" for Detroit, affixed to the front top, over the "All-Star" manufacturers sticker. In the front chin area is the MLB logo. "All-Star" decals are also on each side of the mask. On the interior chin guard padding, using a blue marker, Fick has printed "Used in 1998 Season" and then signed with his initials "RF." The mask has a back-of-the-head guard, with the "All-Star" manufacturer's logo affixed, and on back of the helmet is an All-Star safety "warning." The catcher's mask shows moderate use and it is in EXCELLENT condition.
