Rare original Type I photograph capturing Cassius Clay wearing the Ring Magazine championship belt for the first time following his defeat of Sonny Liston for the World Heavyweight Title in 1964. The original UPI paper news caption, dated "9/17/64," remains affixed to the reverse. The caption reads "Cassius Clay, who prefers to be called Muhammad Ali, sports the championship belt presented to him by Ring Magazine September 17th in recognition of his title as heavyweight champion. Clay has signed for a match with Sonny Liston to defend his title in Boston." The photo (7x9") displays a UPI credit stamp on the reverse and remains in Excellent to Mint condition.
