Presented is a 1995 Ken Griffey Jr. Seattle Mariners' game batting helmet. Known as both "Junior" and "the Kid," Griffey is a Hall of Famer and the son of Major League outfielder Ken Griffey Sr. Junior played 22 seasons in the Major Leagues: Seattle Mariners (1989-99 & 2009-10), Cincinnati Reds (2000-08), Chicago White Sox (2008). With 630 lifetime homers, he is 7th all-time in MLB. A center fielder, he won ten Gold Gloves and won the AL MVP in 1997. In 1995, Griffey missed more than half the season because of injury. He batted .258, with 17 home runs and 42 RBIs. However, his late-season play helped the Seattle Mariners to a strong finish, reaching the ALCS playoffs, but losing 4-2 in games to the Cleveland Indians. A "dial" inside the back of the helmet reads "95." The outside shows very little to no use. The Seattle Mariners' logo is on the front. The inside back pad is detached, and the pad for the right ear flap is also detached. An American Baseball Cap sticker inside shows size 7 1/4. Number "24" is on an ABC logo on back. Inside is a Diamond Collectibles sticker, and a small, circular sticker that reads, "M." A small, circular "R" sticker is on the outside crown. The inside band exhibits great use. The game helmet makes a fine remembrance for a terrific five-tool star.
