Circa 1968 Bob Blackburn Buffalo Bisons game worn Pepsi-style jersey is road red and has a tremendous look. In 1956, the Bisons franchise was purchased by the owner of a local Pepsi distributor who cross-marketed the two entities, creating a hockey logo resembling the iconic red, white, and blue Pepsi logo, except with BUFFALO embroidered across the white space in individual letters. The classic version of that crest is sewn on the chest, and Alternate Captain's "A" is on the left breast in white-on-blue tackle twill, collar drawstring is present. No collar tagging is present though an illegible laundering instruction label is sewn inside by the left hip. Number 3 is on both shoulders and back in white-on-blue tackle twill. Extensive use by the rugged defenseman includes over 20 team repairs, slash marks, loose threads, abrasions, and possible blood stains, along with pilling inside. Blackburn played defense for the Bisons for the 1967-68 and '68-69 seasons, during which he also played 11 games for the New York Rangers; he proceeded to play most of the '69-70 and '70-71 campaigns with the Pittsburgh Penguins. With one of the all-time great designs, Bisons jerseys have become prized collectibles in recent years; most we have handled have been home whites, with this being one of the scarcer road issues.
