Displayed is a Goodyear #1 Eagle racing tire used by NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, who was famed for driving the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in the former NASCAR Winston Cup Series and Sprint Cup Series. Gordon was born in Vallejo, California, in 1971. He loved racing from an early age, and he began racing quarter midgets at age five. He won the National Quarter-Midget Championship at ages 8 & 10. Gordon was awarded a USAC license at the age of 16, the youngest driver to have ever done so. Gordon was the NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year in 1991, and he raced full-time from 1993-2015. Gordon was a 4-time NASCAR Winston Cup Series Champion (1995, '97, '98, & 2001). He also was a 3-time Daytona 500 winner and had three career Grand Slams. His 92 NASCAR victories are the third most of all-time. His four NASCAR Cup Championships are the fourth most ever. The offered tire is a Goodyear #1 Eagle, which is stamped in yellow on the tire. Handwritten in marker on the #1, although not totally legible, is LF 233 ELR. Machine-stamped in raised letters and numerals on the tire is, GOODYEAR 28.0 (diameter) X 10.0 (tread width) - 15 (bead diameter). Machine-stamped on the tire is, "GOODYEAR For racing purposes only. Not for highway use. EAGLE". Also, the D Number imprinted on the tire is D 5612, which indicates the mold, construction, and compound combination of the tire. Handprinted in pink fine tip marker on the tire is LF1, indicating the tire location on the car. Also imprinted on the sidewall: Radial/Made in U.S.A., B303076-88Z02SF, 5XLMMB59 E6R, and 29. The offering weighs 23.5 lbs. The tire is in good condition and shows nice wear.
