Official American League (Harridge) baseball signed in black fountain pen by the following twenty-two members of the 1934 New York Yankees: Ruth (sweet spot), Ruffing, Gomez, Jorgens, Saltzgaver, Crosetti, Taylor, Hoag, Schulte (coach), MacFayden, Allen, Murphy, Van Atta, Selkirk, Chapman, Broaca, Heffner, Byrd, Newkirk, Rolfe, and one other (illegible). Signatures appear 5/10 overall and all signatures have been enhanced in unknown hand. Gehrig is clubhouse. A black-ink inscription (in an unknown hand) reading "To Douggy" [sic] appears on a side panel. The ball has been coated with a heavy layer of protective shellac, to which there are several small chips and/or abrasions, some of which affect a few of the signatures. A nail hole is located on the ball label, indicating that ball was at one time mounted. Good condition overall. Full LOA from JSA.
