1961 Walt Dropo Baltimore Orioles game used jersey has a great old-time flannel feel. Zipper-front top has script Orioles across the chest with number 17 below and to the left, in orange-on-black felt. Smiling oriole logo patch is on left sleeve, with number 17 on back, also in orange-on-black felt. Wilson size 48 tag is affixed to the left front tail, and collar has strip tag with "No 17 - 61" (player number and year) stitched in black. Jersey displays nice overall use with scattered blemishes including some staining to the front collar that appears to be from tobacco juice. The hulking 6'5" Dropo stormed onto the scene in his first full season, winning 1950 Rookie of the Year honors on the strength of his 34 homers, league-leading 144 RBI, and .322 batting average for the Boston Red Sox. The following year he suffered a wrist injury and never matched that early performance; this jersey dates from the last of his 13 Major League seasons, as he appeared in just 14 games for the Orioles.
