Displayed is a 1960 all original Baltimore Orioles' jersey that was game worn by second baseman Jerry Adair.  Adair was a smooth fielder who played 13 Major League seasons, with nine of his years with the Baltimore Orioles. He also played for the Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox, and Kansas City Royals. Adair made his living with his glove. In 1965, as a Baltimore Oriole, he led AL second baseman in fielding percentage, assists, and range factor. Adair batted a Major League lifetime .254. In 1960, when this jersey was game worn by Adair, he played most of the season with the Orioles' Triple-A franchise at Miami, in the International League, batting .266. In his only three games with the Orioles in '60, Adair was 1-for-5, with his only hit being a home run. It has Orioles across the chest in sewn-on orange script with black trim. A working zipper is on the front. The left chest has the numeral "7" in a sewn-on orange numeral with black trim. The left sleeve has an Orioles' logo. The left front outside tail has a Spalding manufacturer's tag, one that has several loose threads and was re-stitched with black thread. The left inside tail has a tag with washing instructions. In the neck is a tag with the sewn-on numerals "60 7 42," indicating the year, Adair's number, and the size. The jersey shows some small, light stains on front. Other than a few of the aforementioned minor imperfections, the jersey is in excellent condition.
