The annual football game between Michigan and Ohio State is held by many to be the greatest rivalry in college sports history. Presented is a terrific remembrance of this ongoing yearly clash: A pair of ticket stubs to the famous 1950 "Snow Bowl" game at Ohio Stadium. The football rivalry between Michigan and Ohio State began in 1897 with a Michigan 34-0 victory. Since then, the two Big Ten schools have played each other in most seasons, and every year since 1918 except 2020 - when the game was cancelled because of a COVID-19 outbreak on the Michigan team.

On Nov. 5, 1950, a large snowstorm had blanketed Ohio Stadium and the storm was ongoing. Ohio State led the Big Ten standings, and if the game were cancelled, Ohio State would win the conference over Michigan and get to play in the Rose Bowl. The Big Ten Conference gave Ohio State the option to cancel the game, but Ohio State refused to take the conference championship on a cancelled game, and so the game was played. The snowy field conditions hampered both teams' offenses and created a situation in which both teams played for field position, hoping to take advantage of a turnover deep inside the opponent's territory. As a result, the two squads combined to punt an astounding 45 times, often punting on first down. Halfback Vic Janowitz, who later became the 1950 Heisman Trophy winner, punted 21 times for Ohio State and scored the Buckeyes only points on a field goal. Meanwhile, Michigan used two blocked Ohio State punts to score a safety and a touchdown, added the extra point and won the game, 9-3. Criticism of the play calling of Wes Felser, the Buckeyes' head coach, led to his being replaced by future coaching legend Woody Hayes - who hated Michigan so much that he refused to even say the state's name, calling the state, "That state up North." As of the start of the 2025 season, Michigan leads the rivalry over Ohio State at 62-51-6.

The tickets each measure approx. 2.1x4.5". Each ticket reads, in part, "MICHIGAN versus OHIO STATE/2 P.M./OHIO STADIUM/Saturday NOV.25/$3.50." The ticket stubs are for adjacent reserved seats: SEC. 28A ROW 30 Seats 9 & 10. The stub for Seat 9 has some slight corner wear and a tiny, light stain, and the stub for Seat 10 has a slight, very small corner stain, some tiny paper loss in one spot near the top, and a stain on the back. Both ticket stubs are in overall very good condition. With the 2025 rivalry game on the 75th yearly anniversary of the "Snow Bowl," these two ticket stubs make timely mementos from one of the strangest games of any college rivalry.
