There is a second that reads "Set 1 1979." The jersey shows nice signs of wear with loose threads evident. The lot will include a Letter of Opinion from MEARS, who has certified the jersey and awarded a grade of A9.5. The -.5 downgrade was due to a small hole and fabric pull on the reverse. The following season Stone would win the 1980 American League Cy Young Award. Following his successful career, Stone would act as an announcer for the Cubs for more than 20 years and has been an announcer for the White Sox since 2005.
