A collection of 28 photographs of Negro League and MLB players taken by Teenie Harris, a photographer for the Pittsburgh Courier, a black newspaper than ran from 1907 to 1966. The photos feature subjects such as Jackie Robinson, Roberto Clemente, Oscar Charleston, Hank Aaron, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, and Buck Leonard. One photo, from the Pittsburgh Pirates dugout is larger and enclosed in a 17x21" frame. Harris, who has signed 6 of the photos, was a prominent photographer in Pittsburgh throughout his long career. The lot will also include a letter from consigner Allan Garnett discussing his connection to Harris. Please note that the photos aren't Type I, but are excellent prints with some coming from the original negatives.
