Rare original 1915 Brooklyn Robins team photo complete with its original matting. This photo originates from the personal collection of two-time National League batting champion Jake Daubert and has been consigned directly by a member of the Daubert family. It is also just the second example we have ever offered. It's rarity is probably due to the fact that it was produced only for players and team executives.
The crystal-clear photo (13x6"; visible dimensions) captures twenty-four team members in a classic team pose, including Rube Marquard, Zach Wheat, Casey Stengel, Jake Daubert, Jack Coombs, Nap Rucker, Jeff Pfeffer, and manager Wilber Robinson. The team, year, and each player are identified in print at the base of the matting. The Robins finished in third place in 1915, but the nucleus of the club pictured here captured the club's first pennant of the modern era the following season. An outstanding example of this seldom-seen dead-ball era team photograph with the added appeal of having been originally presented to Jake Daubert.
The photo displays a few light creases near the top border and is otherwise in apparent Excellent to Mint condition. The mount (15.5x11.5") displays a small, light stain in the lower right corner and is in apparent Excellent condition. Framed to total dimensions of 18.5x14.5".
