Baltimore Orioles road jersey worn by Hall of Fame shortstop Cal Ripken Jr. during the 1986 season. Graded a perfect A10 by MEARS. The gray knit jersey is lettered "Orioles" across the front and features the number "8" on the left breast and reverse. "Ripken" is lettered upon a gray nameplate on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in orange on black tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a Sand Knit 46 label and a second Sand Knit label that reads in part "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Baltimore Orioles American League." Two additional white strip tags appear on the interior rear tail, each chain-stitched in black. The first bears the player's name and number, "Ripken 8," while the other displays the year and jersey size: "86 - 46 Z." The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear. 

1986 marked Ripken's fifth full season in the Majors and his performance that year was typical for baseball's legendary "Iron Man." Appearing in 162 games (naturally), Ripken totaled 25 home runs and 81 RBI, while batting .282. Ripken game worn jerseys are among the most desirable of all modern Hall of Famers, especially early examples.
