A black batting helmet worn by baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza during his time with the New York Mets. The item was acquired by a long-time groundskeeper with the club. The tagging inside shows that the helmet was made by American Baseball Cap and is a size 7 3/4. There are Piazza name labels both on the reverse side of the helmet as well as on the bill. The item shoes terrific signs of use and a dial on the inside shows 98 for the year. Piazza was traded to the Mets in a blockbuster deal with the Florida Marlins. He would play for the team from 1998-2005. One of the greatest hitting catchers who ever lived, Piazza was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016.
