Displayed is a collection of seven (7) Cleveland Indians pennants - all from the 1950s, and most from the 1954 American League Championship season. In '54, the Indians went 111-43-2 in the regular season. Bobby Avila (.341), Al Rosen (.300), and Hall of Famer Larry Doby (32 home runs and 102 RBIs) led the hitters and Hall of Fame pitchers Early Wynn and Bob Lemon each had 23 wins. Cleveland was swept in the '54 World Series by the New York Giants. 1) A pennant that has a length of 29", and at its tallest height measures 11.5". The pennant reads, "Cleveland Indians/1954/AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS." It has a smiling Indian stereotypical logo. On the left side of the pennant is a "scroll" with 26 names of Indians players, plus, adjacent to the scroll is "[Al] Lopez Mgr.", the Indians' Hall of Fame manager. Some names imprinted on the scroll - Hall of Famers Doby, Lemon, Wynn, and Feller. There is some light foxing or staining, mostly on the narrow end of the pennant. 2) A pennant approx. 11.5" at its tallest, with a length that would be approx. 29" if not for the missing tip of the pennant, which now has a length of 26". The pennant reads, "Cleveland INDIANS," and imprinted on the image of a train is, "Lopez - Limited/CHAMPIONS - 1954 Lopez Mgr." The scroll image contains the names of the Indians players, including Hall of Famers Doby, Feller, Wynn, and Lemon. 3) An approx. 11.5x29.5" pennant that reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS/AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - WORLD SERIES 1954/OFFICIAL PENNANT." A tiny part of the tip is missing. The banner has a smiling Indian logo. 4) A pennant measuring 11.5x29.5". It reads, "Cleveland INDIANS," and it has the smiling Indian logo imposed over an image of Cleveland Stadium. The offering has some pinholes from where the pennant was displayed, and a small spot of the pennant is missing on the lower side, near the tip. 5) A pennant measuring approx. 6.75x17.5". The pennant reads, "CLEVELAND, OHIO" and it has an image of a Native American in headdress. 6) Pennant measuring 5x11.75". Reads, "Cleveland Indians" and has the smiling Indian logo. 7) Measures approx. 4.75x11.25". It reads, "Cleveland Indians" and it has the smiling Indian logo. Except for the above-mentioned item #2, the pennant with the tip missing from the train image, the pennants average EXCELLENT condition.
