Displayed is a great Cleveland Indians pennant collection (13), with five pennants celebrating the team's 1948 World Championship, and two pennants celebrating the team's 1954 American League Pennant, and another pennant with names from the '54 roster. Five additional pennants appear to date from circa 1948-54. 1) A 29.4" long pennant promoting the Indians' 1948 World Championship. An Indian in full headdress is depicted, and the pennant reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 1948." There are 23 names on the pennant, including Hall of Famers Boudreau (the Indians' player-manager), Doby (Larry Doby was the first African American player in the American League) Feller, Lemon, Paige (Satchel Paige, well-over forty-years-old, was a legend in Negro League baseball who had no opportunity to join the Major Leagues until Jackie Robinson broke the "Color Line" in 1947). Also, stars Dale Mitchell, Joe Gordon, Jim Hegan, Gene Bearden, and more. 2). A 26.8" pennant reads, "WORLD SERIES CLEVELAND, OHIO 1948." Names imprinted on the pennant include Hall of Famers: Boudreau, Doby, Feller, Lemon, and Satchel Paige. The very tip, almost 0.25", is missing. 3) A 24.6" pennant, reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - WORLD SERIES." 4) A 29" pennant reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS/LOU BOUDREAU, MGR." Imprinted on the pennant are 26 names, including Hall of Famers Doby, Boudreau, Lemon, Feller, Wynn. The pennant has a few small folds, otherwise it is in fine condition. 5) A small pennant, 11.75", reads, "WORLD SERIES/CLEVELAND INDIANS 1948 WORLD CHAMPIONS." In EX condition. 6) A 29" pennant for the 1954 Indians. It reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPS." In EX condition. 7) A 26.25" pennant with an Indian "mascot." Reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS/AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS - WORLD SERIES 1954," and "Official Pennant." In EX condition. 8) An approx. 24" pennant. Several inches missing at the tip, and it exhibits a few mall stains. Reads, "Cleveland Indians." No year is evident, but the players' names are from the 1954 AL Pennant-winning Indians. Names imprinted include Hall of Famers: Feller, Wynn, Lemon, Doby, and manager Al Lopez. Plus, stars Hegan, Garcia, Mitchell, and Avila. 9) A 27.5" pennant. Reads, "CLEVELAND" and has the "Indian" logo. There are some mall folds, and some of the paint is cracked. 10). A 27.5" pennant. A tiny part of the tip may be missing. Both "Ties" at the larger end are missing. It reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS," and it has the Indian logo. There is color loss, some folds and cracking, and a few tiny paint smears. 11) A small pennant, 8.5" long. Color loss, otherwise in EX condition. 12) An 8.7" pennant. A few tiny stains. Reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS." 13) An 8.75" pennant. Reads, "CLEVELAND INDIANS" and has the Indian logo. There are a few very small spots on the larger end, otherwise in EX condition.
