Presented are three (3) Cleveland All-Star Game pennants, one from 1954 and two from 1963. 1) Displayed is a 28" blue pennant reading, "National League All-Stars JULY 13, 1954." The pennant has the image of a scroll, with the NL starting lineup imprinted on it. The scroll reads, "Kluzewski, Snider, Jablonski, Dark, Musial, Hamner, Robinson, Campanella, Erskine and Alston, Mgr." There is an image of Municipal Stadium with a Cleveland Indians caricature swinging a bat. The game took place at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, and the American League won in an 11-9 slugfest. Cleveland first baseman Al Rosen hit a pair of home runs for the AL, and he drove in five runs. Larry Doby, an Indians outfielder, hit a home run as did Detroit's Ray Boone, the grandfather of current New York Yankee manager Aaron Boone. Ted Kluzewski and Gus Bell homered for the National League. The Washington Senators' Dean Stone, without retiring a batter, picked up the win in relief for the AL. Virgil Trucks, with the Chicago White Sox, got the save and Milwaukee Braves reliever Gene Conley took the NL loss. The tip is missing from the pennant, which is otherwise in EX condition. 2) A 29" red pennant reading, "American League ALL STARS 1963/Municipal Stadium." The Indian caricature logo is on the pennant as is an image of the site of the '63 All-Star game, Cleveland's Municipal Stadium. The pennant has the imprinted names of 26 AL players, plus manager Ralph Houk. Some of the AL names: Hall of Famers Fox, Kaline, (Brooks) Robinson, Mantle. The National League defeated the American League 5-3. Willie Mays, of the San Francisco Giants, had two runs and two stolen bases for the winners. The Cubs' Larry Jackson took the win, and the Los Angeles Dodgers' Don Drysdale had the save. Detroit's Jim Bunning had the loss. The pennant is in EX condition. 3) A 29.75" blue pennant reading, "National League All Stars 1963." The pennant has an image of the site of the game - Cleveland's Municipal Stadium, and an image of the Indians logo. The National League roster is imprinted with the team's roster. Manager Alvin Dark is imprinted, along with such Hall of Famers as Mays, Aaron, Clemente, Drysdale, Koufax, Snider, Spahn, Musial, and Marichal. As briefly summarized above, the NL won the game 5-3. The pennant is in EX condition.
