Presented is the opportunity to possess the highest-graded 1915 World Series press ticket stub for Game 3, scheduled at Braves Field in Boston between the Boston Red Sox and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies. This was to be Game 6 for the Series, played on Oct. 15th. However, the Red Sox won the Series in five games, so this is considered a phantom ticket. The ticket stub has been encapsulated and PSA graded NM 7. Since there are no other ticket stubs at this level, it is a 1 of 1, the HIGHEST GRADED. The Phillies won the series opener, at Philadelphia's Baker Bowl, behind the winning pitching of Grover Cleveland Alexander. Then, Boston won Games 2 through 4 by the identical scores of 2-1. Game 2 was in Philadelphia and Games 3-4 at Braves Field. The American League's Red Sox had a new home ballfield at Fenway Park, but they chose to use their previous home field, shared with the National League's Boston Braves, because Braves Field sat over 40,000 fans, more than Fenway Park. The Red Sox, back at Baker Bowl, wrapped up the Series with a 5-4 win. Harry Hooper led the Red Sox hitters in the Series by batting .350, with a Series-leading two round-trippers. The Red Sox used three starting pitchers, and each was excellent: Rube Foster 2-0, 2.00 ERA; Ernie Shore 1-1, 2.12 ERA; Dutch Leonard 1-0, 1.00 ERA. The 19-year-old Babe Ruth, an excellent pitcher for the Red Sox in the regular season, never got to pitch in the '15 Series, and played in only one game, as a pinch hitter. The Phillies' best batter in the Series was shortstop Dave Bancroft, who hit .298. It wouldn't be until 1980 that the Phillies would win another World Series game. The offered press ticket stub measures 2x2". It reads, "PRESS/BRAVES FIELD WORLD SERIES/1915/GAME #/No.298/ADMIT TO PRESS STAND ONLY/Will Not Admit to Braves Field [spectator seating]." This phantom ticket is a wonderful opportunity to own the 1915 World Series Game 6 highest-graded phantom ticket.
