Large collection of seventy-eight vintage baseball photographs, featuring several Hall of Famers and many stars, culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives. Nearly all date from the 1910s  and early 1920s and most have a Brown Brothers credit stamp on the reverse. We believe approximately 90% of the photos are original Type I examples, with the vast majority displaying outstanding contrast and clarity. Two photos (Doug Baird and Mike Mowrey) feature Charles Conlon's credit stamp on the reverse, two (Fred Toney and Ernie Koob) bear Conlon's handwritten credit, and a few (including Oscar Vitt and Dickie Kerr) feature Conlon's distinctive handwriting on the reverse. Many of the players are represented more than once (usually in different poses, but a few are duplicates).

Among the players represented are Christy Mathewson (posing in his military uniform; photo is mounted upon a heavy cardboard backing), Rube Marquard, Wilbert Robinson, Heinie Groh, Harry Davis, Hooks Wiltse, Kid Eberfeld, Eddie Cicotte, Chief Meyers, Jack Doyle, Gene Stallings, Jeff Tesreau, Ira Thomas, Frank Schulte, Jack Coombs, Fred Snodgrass, Harry Davis, Rube Benton, Red Kuhn, Art Fletcher, Reb Russell, Shano Collins, Tom Daly, Ed Reulbach, Jimmy Austin (mounted to a thick cardboard backing), Jack Pfiester, Wild Bill Donovan, Germany Schaefer, Olaf Henrickson, Jack Warhop, Roy Hartzell, and Ed Konetchy.

Sizes vary (measurements are approximate), with the breakdown as follows: 4x5 inches (20%), 5x7 inches (53%), 7x9 inches (10%), and 8x10 inches (17%). All display flaws common to press photos, including, but not limited to, edge tears, creases, corner chips, and editorial shading and/or marks. Three of the photos have been affixed to a heavy cardboard backing. Very Good condition overall. Please note: as we stated previously, while we believe 90% of the photos in this collection are original Type I examples, none have been submitted to PSA, so no guarantees are made regarding specific Type designations.
