Collection of eleven original glass plate negatives, culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archives, each depicting either John McGraw (six negatives) or Rube Marquard (five negatives). Four negatives (all picturing McGraw in street clothes) measure 4x5", while the remainder measure 7x5". McGraw is pictured in uniform as manager of the Giants in two of the negatives. One captures him posing on the field with Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert and another unidentified individual. The other pictures him running towards the camera with other members of the Giants, including coach Wilbert Robinson. Three images capture Marquard in uniform (all posed; on the sideline), twice as a member of the Giants, and once as a member of the Brooklyn Robins. Nearly all the negatives display small areas of emulsion loss along the border areas; otherwise they are in Excellent condition overall.
