Displayed is a beautiful, vintage ceramic Sake bottle with cork-raised decorations of bat, ball, glove, and catcher's mask. Sake is the national drink of Japan, and it is made by fermenting rice that has been polished as a way of removing the husks. Baseball popularity was booming in the 1930s, when this bottle may have been issued in relation to the 1934 U.S. Baseball All-Star Tour of Japan, with the American squad including such Hall of Fame greats as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Charlie Gehringer, Jimmie Foxx, and with Connie Mack along as well, as an advisor. The bottle has a base diameter of if1.8", and it stands 5.75" tall. It has a mostly Columbia blue color, with a slender green line transitioning into brown on the neck. A small cork is at the top. The bottle weighs 4.4 ounces. The beautiful bottle is in NRMT condition.
