Rare fountain pen and pencil set issued in commemoration of the 1945 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. This is the first example of this fountain pen and pencil set we have seen. Both the wooden pen and pencil (each six inches in length) are designed in the shape of a baseball bat and are lettered "Chicago Cubs 1945 Detroit Tigers" on the "barrel," and "World Series" on the handle. Both remain in Near Mint to Mint condition. They are housed in their original red box, which also includes twelve "Superthin" lead replacements for the pencil and an order form to order more pen and pencil sets.
