The 1925 World Series between the Washington Senators and Pittsburgh Pirates marked the first time in history that a team overcame a three-games-to-one deficit to win the Series. This large framed wall display pays homage to the team that accomplished that feat, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The display consists of the following: 1) Washington Senators World Series program (the descriptive note at the base states that the program is from Game 4). The program displays two pieces of clear tape along the left border, as well as minor creases and light soiling. In apparent Good to Very Good condition. 2-3) Two World Series ticket stubs: Pittsburgh Pirates Game 1 1925 World Series ticket stub (Walter Johnson 4-1 victory), and Washington Senators Game 4 World Series ticket stub (Walter Johnson 4-0 victory). Both stubs are in apparent Excellent condition, but the borders are hidden beneath the matting and therefore no guarantees can be made regarding condition. 4) Page from October 29, 1925, "Mid-Week Pictorial" featuring both a recap of the Series and photos of the Pirates team and stars, including Pie Traynor and Kiki Cuyler. 10x15". Slight tear along the bottom border; otherwise in apparent Excellent condition. All the items are conservation mounted and can be easily removed if so desired. Total dimensions: 28x23.5" (framed with UV protective glass). Please Note: The size and/or weight of this lot will necessitate an increased shipping charge.
