Displayed is a 1960s vintage photo signed by Inga Stevens, a famed television and movie star of the era. Stevens was born in Stockholm Sweden, in 1934, and moved later to New York City. She was acting on stage and in commercials when she got her big break, appearing in the film Man of Fire, starring Bing Crosby. Her greatest renown came from her role in the television series The Farmer's Daughter (1963-66). After a marriage to her agent ended in divorce, Stevens was apparently unmarried, but in 1961 she had secretly wed Ike Jones, an African American actor who was the first actor of his race to graduate from UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television. Stevens apparently kept the marriage a secret because she was afraid of the repercussions a racially mixed marriage would cause in those times. Inga Stevens died in 1970, and her death was ruled a suicide. The black & white photo measures 8x10". In blue ink, Stevens neatly inscribed and signed, "To the Donnelly Family - Thank you for being such great fans and thank you for your nice letter. Inga Stevens." The photograph is in excellent condition, and it has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
