Magnificent 1980 L.C. Greenwood game worn photo-matched Pittsburgh Steelers jersey is positively connected to two games as well as a Sports Illustrated cover. Matched to Greenwood wearing the jersey on September 21st, 1980 (Getty 1431903111), and November 2, 1980 - which was used for the November 1980 Sports Illustrated cover (Getty 182554054). Black jersey has white number 68 sewn to front, sleeves, and back, and is tagged "80" on bottom with Sand Knit Exclusive Steelers tags and size 52. The jersey has custom-hemmed sleeves and exhibits outstanding wear with an astounding 56 team repairs, loose threads, and abrasions. Greenwood's nameplate was removed and it appears that a second, shorter, nameplate was also removed. After Greenwood retired in 1981, the next player to wear #68 was Jeff Lucas in 1987 when he appeared in three games. Along with "Mean" Joe Greene, Ernie Holmes, and Dwight White, Greenwood was part of the feared "Steel Curtain" defensive line which played a significant role in Pittsburgh taking home Super Bowl hardware in 1975, '76, '79, and '80. Comes with Davious Photo-Matched LOA.
