Cincinnati Reds road jersey worn by outfielder Bobby Tolan during the 1970 season. The gray flannel jersey is lettered "Cincinnati" across the front and features the number 28 on the left breast and reverse. "Tolan" is lettered on the reverse directly above the number. All front letters are applied in red on white tackle twill, while all numerals and reverse letters are applied in red tackle twill. The name "Tolan" is chain-stitched in red upon a gray strip tag in the collar. Located on the left front tail are a Wilson 40 label and the year, "1970," which is chain-stitched in red. Tolan's name on the reverse has been restored; otherwise, the jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear. 1970 represented Tolan's finest overall season in the Majors. Tolan recorded career-high marks in both batting average (.316) and stolen bases (57), while adding 16 home runs and 80 RBI in helping to lead the Reds to the National League pennant.
