1927 Exhibits Ty Cobb, signed by the legendary "Georgia Peach" on the front. PSA has encapsulated the card and certified the signature as "Authentic." This is the first signed 1927 Exhibits Ty Cobb card we have ever handled and the only PSA-certified example we have seen. Cobb's signature has been beautifully scripted in blue fountain pen in the lower left quadrant and grades 8/10. 1927 was Cobb's first season as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics and even though his correct team affiliation is printed in the lower left, the photo was taken many years earlier, as it pictures him in a Detroit Tigers uniform worn by the club between the years 1918 and 1920. (This image of Cobb was also used on his 1921 Exhibits card.) The card displays an approximate 2.5x.5" area of paper loss on the reverse, but is otherwise Excellent in its overall frontal appearance. This is an exceptional Cobb signed item dating from his playing career and one that would be the highlight of any advanced Ty Cobb, Hall of Fame autograph, or signed card collection.
