Original oil on board painting of former World Heavyweight boxing champion Gerrie Coetzee by Rob Macintosh. Signed and dated ("79") by the artist in the lower right corner. This piece was originally presented to Coetzee in 1979, as noted by an engraved plaque at the base of the frame that reads "Presented to/Gerrie Coetzee (S. Africa)/World Heavyweight Title Fight, Oct 1979/By William Charles De Villiers Joubert." Coetzee was the first African to win a World Heavyweight title, which he accomplished in 1983 when he defeated Michael Dokes for the WBA crown.
