Original Type I photograph capturing an exterior portion of the Polo Grounds during renovation. The image shows scaffolding surrounding the outer grandstand, but fans can be seen in the right field bleachers watching a game. Many more people are pictured lined up outside. A sign reading “James Foster – Grand Stand Builder” can be seen hanging along a portion of the scaffolding. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse. Although no year is listed, this photo might possibly show the final stages of reconstruction following the fire that gutted most of the ballpark in 1911. The photo measures 6.5x4.5” and displays a few light surface wrinkles. EX. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
