Classic Beatles "Butcher" cover is the nicest third-state specimen we have ever offered. This is one of the toughest versions, the mono from the Scranton, Pennsylvania, Capitol Records Plant. Perhaps the most controversial record cover ever produced. This grisly cover for the 1966 Beatles release, Yesterday and Today, was pulled immediately after a day of sales after a massive public backlash. This is the second-state version where the original sleeve was pasted over with the more boring, but socially acceptable cover version of the Beatles posing in a trunk (yawn). However, this specimen has had the paste-over cover expertly removed by the “King of the Peelers” Jim Hansen and will come with coded certificate of authenticity signed by Hansen. The record itself is fine with NM rainbow labels and comes with the original orange “Capitol 66” inner sleeve making this as original as can be. This is the finest third-state version of THE classic Beatles cover we have ever offered. The glue lines are barely recognizable and most importantly the spine is rock solid which is the toughest thing to find.
