Donna Reed, born as Donna Belle Mullenger in 1921, was an actress famous for her movie and television work. Displayed is a 1960s Donna Reed vintage cut signature and inscription. Reed was a Hollywood-imposed stage name. Donna grew up in Iowa and went to Los Angeles for junior college. She was in school productions in Los Angeles and discovered by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and signed to a film contract, making her first movie, The Get-Away, with Rod Serling, in 1941. Overall, she appeared in over 40 films. Her most famous role was Mary Hatch Bailey, opposite Jimmy Stewart, in It's a Wonderful Life. In From Here to Eternity, she played the girlfriend of Prewitt, played by Montgomery Clift. For this performance, she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. From 1958-66, she was the leading character in the television series called The Donna Reed Show, and for her acting on the show she received four Emmy nominations and the 1963 Golden Globe Award as Best Female Star. The Donna Reed cut autograph is on a piece of paper or card stock measuring 2.25x4.1". Using a blue ballpoint, Donna Reed neatly inscribed and signed, "Greetings to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Donnelly from Donna Reed." The cut signature has been encapsulated and a PSA/DNA Certified as AUTO GRADE as MINT 9.
