Very rare and highly-coveted mini-Stanley Cup dates from 2003-04, the first of three championships won by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Scaled trophies such as this one are awarded to players, team staff, and upper management each season and, much like the full-sized version, have the names of that year's participants engraved (the actual Cup has the names of all of the champions engraved, until a new ring is needed and one needs to be removed to the Hall of Fame). This silver specimen measures 13" high, 6" in circumference at the base, and "4 in circumference at the top of the bowl, and has a Boffey sticker under the base. There are no nicks or scratches noticed but it does display tarnishing, primarily on the back side of the trophy. The fact that these are only issued to high-level team members dictates that they rarely come to market, as this one belonged to a member of Tampa Bay's training staff. Led by dynamic scorer Martin St. Louis and playoff MVP Brad Richards, the Lightning rallied to win the final two games of the 7-game series against the Calgary Flames to bring Lord Stanley's prize to St. Petersburg for the first time. They were far from done, adding back-to-back titles in the 2019-20 and '20-21 seasons, and with five finals appearances total, the Bolts have solidified their credentials as one of the NHL's premier franchises for the past two decades.
