Interesting touch is the three notable boxing personages depicted seated at ringside behind Dempsey and numbered on painting: #1, His Manager - Jack Kerns, just to Dempsey's right; #2, directly behind Dempsey, his trainer - Trigger Holt; #3, just to Dempsey's left, Ex-Heavyweight Champ Jim Corbett (28.5x40.5"). Painting was likely done at some point before Dempsey fired Kerns during his three-year layoff as Heavyweight Champ before losing his title to Gene Tunney in 1926. Painting (Framed at 28.5x40.5") has some scratches, a less than 1" square repair (paint removed), some wrinkles and chipping.
