Addendum:  This is a 1921 Exhibit Supply Company machine header for the ideal model machine.  The first ESCO vending machine for cards was called "Ideal".  It is a small machine, about a cubic foot, and it had a front space for advertising the content.  The first advertising made for these machines were custom designed panels that were about 6" x 7" wide.  They were printed on the same cardboard as the cards; the backs of some show they were made from scrapped sheets.

Vintage Counter display card we have not seen. Pictures Jack Dempsey on his circa 1925 card. Dempsey was the World Heavyweight Champion from 1919 to 1926. Card reads, "Put money in slot. Push slide in slowly until it stops. Then pull out slowly and receive card." The cards sold for only a cent. Heavy cardboard (same stock as cards themselves). Best of all, back is exhibit backs, as they use the same paper. We believe this is not a coin operated machine front but used on a counter. EXCELLENT condition.
