Great Olympic remembrance. Torch made for runners in the relay before the Summer Games. Excellent condition. Shows use. Metal at top is slightly melted in places. Repaired in connecting area for top and bottom pieces where glue dried up. At 32 inches long, it was the tallest for Summer Games at that point. Weight is 3.5 lbs. There are 22 silver reeds at top, one for each of the modern Olympic Games at that time. Designed by Peter Mastrogiannis, with a Georgia hardwood handle. Nice touch are two gold colored bands: the one above the handle engraved with the Atlanta 1996 logo, and the band at the base of the handle has the name of each Olympic host city.
