Masterful illustration art is entitled "The Blitz" and was actually published in the Super Bowl IX program. Watercolor on canvas board by supreme illustrator Daniel Schwartz depicts the first ever Super Bowl. Chiefs quarterback Len Dawson is being crushed by Green Bay assassin Forrest Gregg. Signed by Schwartz, it measures 17.5x22.5". Wonderful picture is Super Bowl worthy.
Daniel Schwartz is an award-winning illustrator who has worked for such top periodicals as Esquire, Fortune and Playboy. His works are in the collections of Leonard Bernstein, William Styron, Gay Talese, William Paley and Daniel Selznick. A sculptor as well, he was commissioned by the NFL in 1968 to create the bronze that became the Walter Payton NFL "Man of the Year" Award.
