This gorgeous Type 1 image shows Smith arriving into history. In the fifth game of the World Series in 1920, Earl Smith "smashed out" a grand slam home run. It was the first time in World Series history that a home run was hit with bases loaded. Fortunately, the photographer was in the perfect position to capture Smith scoring after the historic hit. Published in the July/August issue of Baseball Magazine this important photo has great contrast and the original paper on back that describes in detail what took place on 10-11-20. 8.5 x 6.5" with Christies Auction hologram. A few wrinkles and pin holes but still presents well.
