Stunning detail including discussing the famous 1934 World Series game where Commissioner Landis pulled him from the game to stop a potential riot. He is recalling that when Medwick slid into Owen at third, Owen fell on him.  A three-pager in clear blue ballpoint, penned by former Tigers shortstop, Bill Rogell.  In his musing, dated 3/2/92, he alludes to the fact that the series between the Tigers and Cardinals was actually a match between Houston and Beaumont of the Texas League (as many of the Cardinals played for Beaumont and many of the Detroit players for Houston).  He goes on to lament that, "Schoolboy Rowe was not at his best in the series."  Rogell ends by saying that his, "...biggest thrill was Tom Bridges pitching 9th inning 35 series."  Signed, "Always Bill Rogell" in MT blue ink.  Letter is on City of Detroit, City Council letterhead with horizontal fold creases.  Comes with original City of Detroit Common Council envelope addressed in Rogell's hand.
