Two handwritten letters with baseball content from former members of the 1927 Yankees.      

The first letter is from player, manager and coach, Arthur Fletcher.  Dated September 11, 1943 (during his coaching days with the Yankees) on The Copley-Plaza Boston, Massachusetts and makes references to the World Series and Earl Combs.  The one page, front and back text is in neat, clear blue ink addressed to "Pat".  Fletcher's career would be steeped in New York culture touching some of New York's most famous baseball figures.  He played with the Giants during the days of John McGraw and he managed or coached during the tenors of Miller Huggins and Joe McCarthy.  Horizontal fold creases and two staples in the upper left and upper write, o/w NRMT-MT.    

The second letter, written in clear blue ink in March 1968 (stamped on back with date), is from St. Louis Browns and New York Yankee Player, Frederic Durst to a fan who is most likely joining the military service as well as being interested in baseball.  Durst talks about his playing with some of the greats of baseball including George Sisler, Urban Shocker and Ken Williams when he was a part of the St. Louis Browns organization and Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Tony Lazzeri, Earl Combs, Herb Pennock and others while playing with the Yankees in 1927,28 and 29.  He closes by saying, "My Days (at 72 years) of Base Ball are just memories now- but the memories are all very wonderful."  He finishes with, "To you, the best of health Good Luck Cedric M. Durst".  Horizontal fold creases and very tiny corner creases.  Otherwise NRMT.
