Sourcing from one of Dean's closest high school buddies, this small softcover log of memories from the Indiana school is signed twice by its most famous alumnus. Signatures date from 1949, before Dean's rise to fame, when he was a geeky schoolboy. A small photograph of him is pasted in among many of his other classmates. Two purple ink signatures each read, "James 'Rack' Dean," making note of his childhood nickname. Signatures rate 8/10. Loose binding with middle two pages detached. It comes with a detailed LOA from Dean's classmate, which is a work of art in itself. The letter is written in immaculate sloping glyphs and gives an account of James Dean returning to his hometown in February 1955 post-fame and visiting all his old haunts with the writer, Bob Pulley, who also notes that it was the last time he saw "Jim," who died later that year. In that same year, two movies were released starring Dean: East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause, the former of which earned him a posthumous Oscar nomination. In all, Dean starred in just three movies, underscoring just how incredible it is his legacy endures to this day. Comes with PSA LOA.
