This game worn baseball jersey, cap and pants set was donned by John Marzano in the 1984 Olympics. The first time baseball was included as an official Olympic sport, Marzano was the first USA Olympic baseball member to clear the fences, doing so in a 2-1 victory vs. Chinese Taipei on July 31. While the cap was not worn during the home run, it was indeed a part of his uniform throughout the rest of the games. The jersey bears the "USA" nameplate and "20" on front and shows heavy use shown with fraying on front/back nameplates. There are dirt stains on both jersey and pants, a baseball USA patch on left sleeve, and the pants have handwritten "20" inside. Both manufactured by Rawlings, these pieces are Photo-matched with an included image of Marzano's home run trot.
