This great collection of nine game-worn catcher's mitts is a testament to the wear and tear faced by Major League catchers. Used by John Marzano, who played in MLB for 11 years and was also a 1984 USA Olympic Baseball member, these track his journey from the Red Sox (1987-92), Rangers (1995), and Mariners (1996-98). John caught for Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson in their prime, and one mitt is wonderfully destroyed from catching Roger Clemens during his 1987 Cy Young season. The pocket actually has a large hole from a Clemens heater, is signed by the flame-thrower, inscribed "CY Young 1987" and also inscribed "Rocket" with an arrow pointing to the hole inside. Marzano caught 13 games for Clemens in 1987 including six complete games, nine wins and Clemens' 20th victory. Two of the gloves have been photo-matched, some have wrist protectors and index finger padding. One has his daughters names, "Danielle and Dominique," inside, and also included is a protective guard for his thumb to use as reinforcement under the glove.
